The best antiques in India rarely reach the open market. They come from estate settlements, quiet family sales, and the slow relationships that a house like ours has built over three generations. This is where Vinterior looks first. We prefer to buy fewer things and know each of them well.
Authenticity as a practice
Every piece we sell is authenticated in-house. We examine timber, joinery, hardware, tool marks and finish; we compare against reference pieces from the same period; and we write down what we find. If a piece has been restored, that is disclosed. If a component has been replaced, that is disclosed. Nothing about a Vinterior acquisition depends on trust alone.

In the last two decades the Indian market for authenticated antique furniture — particularly Anglo-Indian and colonial pieces — has appreciated steadily. Genuine 19th-century pieces are a finite resource. Once refinished, dismantled or lost, they do not return. A well-chosen antique furnishes a home now and holds its value over generations.
